Aaron Chia and Yap Roy King win Arctic Open title

The new Malaysian men’s doubles pairing of Aaron Chia and Yap Roy King secured their first Super 500 title at the Arctic Open in Vantaa, Finland. The duo defeated Taiwan’s Lai Po Yu-Tsai and Fu Cheng with a score of 21-19, 21-19 in the final.

In the same tournament, Malaysian singles player Lee Zii Jia reached the semi-finals but was eliminated by Denmark’s Anders Antonsen in three sets, 11-21, 21-15, 16-21. Prior to that loss, Lee had defeated France’s Christo Popov.

Following their victory, coach Herry Iman Pierngadi noted that while the win is significant, the pair will face a more rigorous test at the upcoming Denmark Open against top-10 ranked opponents.
