Aaron Donald may return to Los Angeles Rams this season
NFL insiders say a comeback by former defensive tackle Aaron Donald is "more likely than not" after the Los Angeles Rams completed a blockbuster trade for defensive end Myles Garrett. Schefter noted that the Rams' status as Super Bowl favorites, the upcoming Super Bowl in Los Angeles, and the chance to pair Donald with Garrett make the idea attractive.
Donald retired after the 2023 season at age 35 but has hinted that the trade sparked renewed interest. The Rams have about $18.9 million in cap space and could work out a plan, though no deal is confirmed. If he returns, Donald would join a defensive duo that together hold multiple Defensive Player of the Year awards and over 100 career sacks each.
