Aaron Glenn returns to Detroit as Jets head coach

New York Jets head coach Aaron Glenn is set to return to Ford Field this Sunday to face his former team, the Detroit Lions. Glenn previously served four seasons as the Lions’ defensive coordinator under head coach Dan Campbell, a relationship built on their history as teammates and fellow Texas A&M alumni.

Both teams enter the Week 3 matchup with 1-1 records. The Jets currently hold the NFL's No. 1 ranked total defense, having become the first team since 2006 to prevent opponents from reaching 200 yards in each of their first two games. However, they face a high-scoring Detroit offense that has averaged 31 points per game.

Glenn expressed fondness for his time in Detroit, stating, “A place that I coached, a place that I have fond memories, a place that we want to win.” While the Lions enter the game with a rest advantage following a 10-day break, the Jets aim to build on their defensive momentum and resolve fourth-quarter execution issues.
