Aaron Judge returns to Yankees lineup after 84-game injury absence
Aaron Judge returned to the New York Yankees lineup on Tuesday night against the Colorado Rockies after missing 84 games due to a right rib stress fracture. While the Yankees secured a 5-3 victory, Judge’s comeback was offensively quiet, as he went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts. To manage his workload, manager Aaron Boone limited Judge to six defensive innings before substituting him in right field.
The victory was bolstered by a strong pitching performance from Cam Schlittler, who recorded 10 strikeouts over seven innings, and a decisive three-run home run by Heliot Ramos in the eighth inning. The win ensures the Yankees' 34th consecutive season with a winning record.
However, the team faces new roster challenges as infielder Jazz Chisholm Jr. has been placed on the 10-day injured list with a sprained right thumb. Chisholm sustained the injury while sliding into second base during Tuesday's game. The Yankees plan to recall Anthony Volpe from Triple-A to address the vacancy in the infield.
