Aaron Judge targets postseason return amid injury disagreement

New York Yankees captain Aaron Judge is aiming to return for the American League Wild Card series despite a right calf strain. Judge expressed disagreement with manager Aaron Boone regarding the description of the injury, questioning Boone’s use of the term ‘moderate’ to characterize the strain.

Boone previously stated he did not expect Judge to be available for the postseason, but has since clarified that the team is working together to get the player healthy. Boone described Judge’s reaction as ‘passion’ rather than frustration. Judge, who was placed on the 10-day injured list on September 17, has undergone platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections to aid recovery.

In other team news, Ben Rice has surpassed manager Aaron Boone’s preseason home run prediction. After hitting his 41st home run during a victory over the Tampa Bay Rays, Rice currently ties for the American League home run lead.
