Aaron Judge's Rib Injury Leaves Yankees Short of Power Ahead of Trade Deadline

Aaron Judge continues to recover from a right rib stress fracture. Subsequent imaging shows the injury is healing but he has not been cleared for baseball activities, and no timetable for his return has been set.

Judge has been sidelined since May 31. In his absence the Yankees’ offense has collapsed, posting the fourth‑worst OPS in MLB, the lowest on‑base percentage and among the lowest runs per game. Manager Aaron Boone said Judge “felt quite a bit better and was encouraged… we’re just in that still letting‑it‑heal mode.”

Additional key hitters Giancarlo Stanton (right calf strain) and Carlos Rodón (left elbow inflammation) also lack clear return dates, heightening uncertainty as the trade deadline approaches.
