Aaron Paul makes cameo in DC film Clayface

Actor Aaron Paul appears in a brief cameo in the new DC film Clayface, which is the first R-rated horror movie in the DCU. Paul portrays Jimmy “One Nut” Hagen, the late abusive father of the protagonist, Matt Hagen.

Director James Watkins revealed that Paul originally had a larger supporting role involving flashbacks to Matt’s youth. However, most of those scenes were cut during production. The remaining appearance occurs during a climactic action sequence at the Vesuvius nightclub in Gotham City, where Matt morphs into his father to shock a killer.

Watkins explained the creative decision to reduce the role by focusing on the theme of universal revenge rather than the concept of being defined by the “sins of the father.”
