Aaron Rodgers disputes Shailene Woodley breakup narrative

NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers has publicly shared his version of his broken engagement with actress Shailene Woodley. During an appearance on the ‘Not Just Football’ podcast with teammate Cam Heyward, Rodgers alleged that shortly after he proposed in December 2020, Woodley told him she wanted to be with another man before they married.

Rodgers disputed previous narratives regarding the split, specifically addressing Woodley’s past comments about experiencing depression and trauma following their breakup. He claimed that Woodley removed her engagement ring by March 2021 and that the relationship had effectively ended long before it was publicly confirmed in 2022. He further stated that they attempted to reconcile on a few occasions in 2021, but those efforts failed.

Woodley has previously described the relationship as both ‘not right’ and ‘beautiful,’ noting that the dissolution caused her significant emotional distress. She has not publicly responded to Rodgers’ recent allegations.
