AB de Villiers reflects on early impressions of Virat Kohli

Former South African cricketer AB de Villiers has reflected on his initial impressions of Indian batter Virat Kohli, admitting that he perceived Kohli as ‘arrogant and cocky’ when they first met.

Speaking on a podcast, de Villiers explained that this perception was largely a result of Kohli’s immense self-confidence during the early stages of his career when he had much to prove. De Villiers noted that Kohli’s personality has since matured and become more balanced over the years. The two athletes share a close friendship following their time as teammates for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the Indian Premier League.
