Abadi Masela LNG project site cleared after discovery of WWII bombs

During infrastructure preparation for the Abadi Masela LNG project, two bombs believed to be remnants of Japanese military weaponry from World War II were discovered along the construction path.

Following the discovery, the Gegana team from the Maluku Regional Police (Polda Maluku) conducted a disposal operation. SKK Migas Head Djoko Siswanto reported that the destruction of the explosives was completed safely and smoothly. The removal of these hazardous materials allows site clearing and construction activities to proceed. The operation was a collaborative effort involving Gegana, INPEX Masela Ltd, and SKK Migas to ensure safety mitigation within the project area.
