Abadina celebrates 63rd anniversary of foundation

The National District Basketball Association (Abadina) has reached its 63rd anniversary of foundation. Founded on September 4, 1963, the institution is celebrating its institutional solidity and its impact on local club movements.

As part of the anniversary festivities, the 50th TBS Distrito 2026 will be held, marking its “Golden Wedding.” The tournament will feature eight traditional teams: Mauricio Báez, San Carlos, Rafael Barias, Bameso, Huellas del Siglo, San Lázaro, El Millón, and Los Prados. The competition is scheduled to open on Tuesday, September 15, at the Arena BanReservas Profesor Virgilio Travieso Soto.

Additionally, a U14 male and female tournament involving 40 teams will launch on the same day. This tournament is dedicated to the National Youth Basketball Selection Project promoted by the Dominican Basketball Federation (Fedombal).
