ABANCA renews financial alliance with Galician artisan net makers
ABANCA and the Federación Galega de Redeiras Artesás ‘O Peirao’ have renewed their financial collaboration agreement in Santiago de Compostela. The partnership aims to ensure the economic viability and continuity of the traditional net-making profession along the Galician coast.
Managed through the specialized ABANCA Mar unit, the agreement provides members with tailored financial products, including preferential credit lines for daily operations and new business initiatives. Key components of the deal include access to official financing lines and the ‘ABANCA Emprendedores y Profesionales’ plan, a simplified employment pension plan designed to help self-employed professionals supplement their retirement with better tax advantages.
The collaboration focuses on addressing critical sector challenges, specifically sustainability, circular economy practices, and the necessity of generational renewal to preserve this cultural and historical maritime craft.
