ABB and Nippon Express open Japan’s first electrification service workshop
ABB and Nippon Express have established the ‘ABB Tokyo Service Workshop’ within a Nippon Express warehouse in Shinagawa, Tokyo. This facility marks the first service workshop of its kind in Japan for ABB’s electrification business unit.
The workshop is designed to provide rapid technical support, after-sales service, repairs, maintenance, and diagnostics for ABB products, such as high-voltage and low-voltage switchgear. It will also serve as a center for training and certifying service engineers and partners, as well as a hub for storing and supplying maintenance parts.
The initiative responds to rising global and domestic electricity demand driven by AI expansion, data center growth, semiconductor manufacturing, and decarbonization efforts. By combining ABB’s technical expertise with Nippon Express’s logistics network and strategic location near major transport hubs like Tokyo Port and Haneda Airport, the partnership aims to ensure stable power supply and minimize equipment downtime for customers.
