ABB and NOVENCO partner to optimize industrial fans

ABB and NOVENCO have partnered to combine their portfolios, creating an optimized line of axial industrial fans designed for low energy consumption and simplified maintenance. The collaboration integrates ABB’s IE5 permanent magnet motors and frequency inverters into NOVENCO’s ZerAx® axial fans.

The new equipment is expected to be up to 85% more economical than belt-driven electronically commutated (EC) models. The ABB inverters can further reduce consumption by up to 25% by adjusting speed to operational demand. The fans feature a modular architecture, allowing for the independent replacement of blades, motors, and inverters, unlike many sealed EC fans that require full replacement upon failure.

Additionally, the components are largely recyclable, with an estimated service life of 15 to 20 years. The optimized line maintains an aerodynamic efficiency of up to 92% for its rotors.
