ABBA celebrates 50 years of ‘Dancing Queen’
The pop group ABBA is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the release of their signature song, ‘Dancing Queen’, which first debuted on vinyl on August 16, 1976.
To mark the milestone, Universal organized a commemorative event at the Holzmarkt creative district in Berlin. Similar celebrations were held in various international cities, including Amsterdam, London, Stockholm, and Sydney. As part of the anniversary, a new 10-inch glitter-look version of the single has been released, featuring the Spanish version, ‘La Reina Del Baile’, on the flip side. Additionally, a Dolby Atmos version of the track has been made available to fans.
The song remains a cultural touchstone, representing the disco era and the musical legacy of members Agnetha Fältskog, Anni-Frid Lyngstad, Björn Ulvaeus, and Benny Andersson.
