ABBank credit ratings upgraded by Moody's to B1

Moody's Ratings has upgraded the long-term foreign-currency and local-currency deposit ratings and the issuer rating of An Binh Commercial Joint Stock Bank (ABBank) from B2 to B1. The agency also maintained a positive outlook for the bank.

The upgrade follows improvements in ABBank's asset quality, profitability, capital strength, and risk resilience. Specifically, the Baseline Credit Assessment (BCA) was raised from B3 to B2, and the long-term Counterparty Risk Ratings (CRR) were increased from B1 to Ba3.

Key financial indicators cited include a reduction in problematic loans—comprising non-performing loans (NPL) and VAMC bonds—to 1.2% as of June 2026. Additionally, the bank's tangible common equity (TCE) ratio rose to 10.5% during the same period. Moody's expects further capital improvements through 2027 driven by planned large-scale capital increases and internal capital generation.
