Abbas Gündüz warns of cryptic, camouflaged FETÖ operatives in Turkey

Abbas Gündüz, president of the 15 July Democracy Martyrs, Veterans and Terror Victims Association, called on senior state officials and institutional leaders to monitor "cryptic" and camouflaged members of the FETÖ network with great care. He said the failed 15 July 2016 coup revealed not only a single coup attempt but a long‑standing, infiltrated organization that has learned to hide its identity and re‑organise.

Gündüz noted that past operations have targeted the group’s military and bureaucratic structures, but stressed that the fight against FETÖ is not merely a security issue; it is also a matter of democracy, the rule of law and national sovereignty. He urged a continued, evidence‑based, principled response anchored in law and justice.
