Abbotsford Canucks Add Mark O’Leary as Assistant Coach and Lucas Bourdon as Video Coach

General manager Richard Seeley announced on July 31, 2026 that the Abbotsford Canucks have completed their 2026‑27 coaching staff. Mark O’Leary was hired as an assistant coach and Lucas Bourdon was appointed as the team’s video coach.

O’Leary brings more than a decade of WHL experience, having served as head coach of the Moose Jaw Warriors from the 2019‑20 season and leading them to the WHL championship in 2024. He also worked as an assistant for Hockey Canada’s U18 program. Bourdon joins the Canucks after two seasons as video coach with the BCHL’s Chilliwack Chiefs and a playing career that included stints with the Chiefs, Powell River Kings and other junior clubs. Both hires are expected to strengthen player development and on‑ice performance for the Abbotsford franchise.
