Abbotsford Canucks sign defenceman Isaac Belliveau

The Abbotsford Canucks have signed defenceman Isaac Belliveau to a one-year AHL contract, according to an announcement by general manager Richard Seeley.

Belliveau, 23, previously played for the Rochester Americans and the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins in the AHL. He also has experience in the ECHL with the Wheeling Nailers. A former fifth-round draft pick of the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2021, Belliveau played his junior hockey in the QMJHL for the Rimouski Oceanic and the Gatineau Olympiques.

He joins a defensive roster that includes Joe Artnsen, Guillaume Brisebois, Cole Clayton, Kirill Kudryavtsev, Sawyer Mynio, Jimmy Schuldt, and Jack Thompson. The Canucks are scheduled to begin their AHL regular season in Calgary on October 2, with their home opener following on October 17 against the Coachella Valley Firebirds.
