Abbotsford-Mission by-election candidates confirmed

The nomination period for the Abbotsford-Mission provincial by-election in British Columbia has officially closed. Five candidates have been confirmed to represent their respective political parties: Pam Alexis for the BC NDP, Kerry-Lynne Findlay for the Conservative Party, Stephen Fowler for the BC Green Party, Lakhwinder Jha for CentreBC, and Jeff Monds for the Libertarian Party.

Upcoming debates are scheduled to allow candidates to present their platforms. The Abbotsford Chamber of Commerce will host a live-streamed debate on September 9, moderated by Hamish Telford. Additionally, the Mission Regional Chamber of Commerce will hold an in-person and streamed forum at the Clarke Theatre on September 14.

Voting is set for Saturday, September 26, 2026, with polls open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Advance voting will take place from September 18 to September 23. The by-election was called by Premier David Eby following the resignation of former MLA Reann Gasper.
