Abbotsford Police Seek Public Help to Identify Suspect in Child Abduction Attempt

On July 22, 2026 at about 5:30 p.m., two girls under ten were playing outside the apartment complex at 33538 Marshall Rd in Abbotsford when an unknown South Asian man in his 50s approached them and tried to lure them into his vehicle. One of the girls shouted for her parents, prompting the suspect to flee. The children were not physically harmed.

The Abbotsford Police Department, represented by Sgt. Paul Walker, released a composite sketch of the suspect – described as 5 ft 5 in to 5 ft 9 in tall, heavy‑built with a noticeable belly, and possibly driving a light‑coloured sedan. Police are asking anyone who was near the McCallum and Marshall Roads intersection, or who has dash‑cam or surveillance footage from the area, to come forward. Witnesses can contact the department at 604‑859‑5225.

The police continue to canvass the neighbourhood, review video, and interview potential witnesses as part of the ongoing investigation.
