Abbotsford School District releases 2026-27 start-up report

The Abbotsford School District has released its 2026-27 school start-up report, revealing that enrollment for elementary and middle school students is lower than original budget estimates. While secondary school enrollment has increased, the district reported 395 elementary and 165 middle school divisions.

Staffing data shows a 12 per cent year-over-year decrease in continuing enrolling teachers, with total filled teacher positions dropping to 343 from 373 the previous year. Conversely, support staff positions saw a significant increase, rising to 180 from 110 in the 2025-26 period.
