AbbVie data shows long-term efficacy for Crohn’s disease treatments

New long-term data presented at the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG) 2026 Annual Scientific Meeting in Nashville indicates sustained efficacy for treatments targeting Crohn’s disease.

Post hoc analyses of the FORTIFY open-label extension study showed that risankizumab (SKYRIZI) was associated with sustained or improved clinical and endoscopic outcomes over up to five years. These results remained consistent across various disease locations, including ileal, colonic, and ileocolonic Crohn’s disease. Additionally, the data showed rising rates of no-draining fistulas among patients.

Further real-world evidence presented by AbbVie highlighted the benefits of upadacitinib (RINVOQ) for patients with advanced, difficult-to-treat Crohn’s disease. Specifically, 93.3% of Crohn’s patients with fistulas who remained on RINVOQ achieved clinical and steroid-free remission.
