Abby Black named GNAC Offensive Player of the Week

Abby Black, a senior outside hitter for Northwest Nazarene University, has been named the Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC) Offensive Player of the Week following a dominant performance at the Otter Invitational in Seaside, California.

Black led the Nighthawks to a 4-0 start for the 2026 season, recording 82 total kills with a .333 efficiency across four matches. Her performance included a career-high 31 kills against Dominican, which achieved a .652 attack percentage and tied for the third-most kills in a four-set match in GNAC history.

In addition to her offensive output, Black recorded eight service aces and completed three double-doubles by reaching double digits in digs during three of the four matches. Her 82 kills represent the most by an NNU player through the first four matches of a season in the rally-scoring era.
