ABC, NBC, and CBS evening news ratings for week of August 17

Nielsen ratings for the week of August 17 show varying performance across major US evening news broadcasts. ABC’s ‘World News Tonight’ with David Muir led in both total viewers and the key Adults 25-54 demographic, averaging 8.462 million total viewers. NBC’s ‘Nightly News’ with Tom Llamas averaged 6.634 million total viewers and 1.025 million in the 25-54 demographic. It was noted as the only broadcast to avoid viewership losses in both measured categories compared to the previous week, showing year-over-year increases in both total viewers and the key demographic.

CBS’s ‘Evening News’ with Tony Dokoupila averaged approximately 3.96 million total viewers and 458,000 in the 25-54 demographic. It recorded gains in total viewers compared to the previous week and showed slight increases compared to the same period last year.
