ABC opens applications for Portrait Artist of the Year

The Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) has opened applications for the third season of ‘Portrait Artist of the Year’. The competition invites both amateur and professional artists from across Australia to compete for a significant prize, which includes a commission to create a portrait for the National Portrait Gallery’s collection.

Each season features 54 artists who must capture the likeness and personality of a surprise celebrity sitter within a four-hour timeframe. The third season will be hosted by Miranda Tapsell and Luke McGregor, with a judging panel including Bree Pickering, Abdul Abdullah, and Robert Wellington.
