ABCZ Mulher Meeting addresses female leadership in agribusiness

The 9th ABCZ Mulher Meeting begins this Thursday in Uberaba, Brazil, as part of the 19th ExpoGenética. The event brings together female producers, entrepreneurs, and executives to discuss management, innovation, sustainability, and family succession within the agribusiness sector.

The meeting highlights the increasing role of women in agricultural decision-making. According to the 2017 IBGE Agricultural Census, women manage approximately 947,000 rural establishments in Brazil, representing 19% of the total, up from 13% in 2006. Data from Cepea and the CNA indicates that nearly 11 million women worked in the agribusiness sector in 2023, spanning roles in crops, livestock, cooperatives, research, and international trade.

Key topics for the agenda include management training, access to credit, family decision-making participation, and preparing successors for multi-generational properties.
