Abdallah Sima returns to Senegal national team after strong RC Lens start

RC Lens attacker Abdallah Sima has successfully returned to the Senegal national team following a strong start to the domestic season. After more than a year of absence from the ‘Lions de la Téranga’, the 25-year-old was named in the starting lineup by coach Patrick Vieira for a match against Mozambique in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Sima made an immediate impact during the match, which ended in a 1-1 draw, by providing an assist to Nicolas Jackson in the 32nd minute. His performance in the international break follows a period of increased playing time and productivity at RC Lens, where he has recorded one goal and two assists in league play prior to the break.

This resurgence marks a significant turnaround for the player, who previously struggled to secure consistent minutes at Lens following his arrival from Brest. His recent form has solidified his role within the club's offensive lineup and re-established his presence on the international stage.
