Abdel Fattah al‑Burhan meets South Sudan adviser and tours reclaimed Sudanese frontlines

South Sudan’s presidential security adviser Tut Gatluak Manime met Sudan’s army chief and head of the Transitional Sovereign Council, Gen. Abdel Fattah al‑Burhan, in Khartoum. The discussion conveyed President Salva Kiir’s message, covering bilateral ties, regional security, oil transit through Sudan, the disputed Abyei region and an invitation for Burhan to visit Juba, with proposals for joint commercial zones along the border.

Later, Burhan visited frontline positions in North Kordofan, inspecting troops in the Umm Sayala and Jabra al‑Sheikh areas that had been recaptured from the Rapid Support Forces. Accompanied by the governors of Darfur and North Kordofan and the commander of the Sudan Shield Forces, he assessed the military gains as the Sudanese Armed Forces continue operations against the RSF.
