Abdelhamid Aït Boudlal agrees to contract extension with Stade Rennais

Stade Rennais has reached an agreement to extend the contract of 20-year-old Moroccan international defender Abdelhamid Aït Boudlal. While the specific terms and duration of the new deal have not been officially disclosed, the move follows weeks of negotiations between the club and the player.

Aït Boudlal, a graduate of the Mohammed VI Football Academy, is currently under contract until June 2028. The extension aims to secure his future at the club amid significant interest from English Premier League sides. During the recent summer transfer window, Fulham reportedly made a bid estimated between €23 million and €30 million, which Rennes rejected.

Despite a challenging start to the current season that included criticism from manager Franck Haise and sporting director Loïc Désiré regarding his focus, the club remains committed to his development. Other clubs, including Newcastle United, Everton, and Brentford, are also reportedly monitoring the defender's progress.
