Abdellah Ouazane credits analysis for Ajax goal against Sparta Rotterdam
Seventeen-year-old Ajax talent Abdellah Ouazane has attributed his recent scoring success to tactical preparation and goalkeeper analysis. Following a goal against Atalanta earlier in the week, Ouazane scored again in a 1-2 victory over Sparta Rotterdam.
Ouazane revealed that his goal against Sparta was the result of studying goalkeeper Michael Brouwer’s movements. He noted that he identified significant space in the far corner of the goal, a detail he discussed with teammate Maarten Paes before the match.
The young attacker also credited teammate Steven Berghuis for encouraging him to analyze video footage of opposing goalkeepers to improve his finishing. Ouazane stated that while he often finds himself in scoring positions, he previously shot too forcefully and without control, but studying keeper tendencies has helped him refine his approach.
