Abdellatif Nahila, the newly appointed director of the new cultural center in Sidi Kacem, has issued a statement denying reports that his appointment has been canceled. In a clarification, Nahila stated that as of October 15, 2026, neither he nor the relevant regional or provincial authorities have received any official decision to revoke his position.

The controversy follows social media rumors and reports suggesting that the appointment was invalid because it was made by a regional director without central administration approval. While some reports claim central administration correspondence only assigned Nahila to the culture sector in Sidi Kacem without managerial duties, Nahila maintains his appointment followed all legal and administrative regulations.

Nahila defended his professional background, noting his training at the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts in Rabat and specialized professional training in cultural center management in Brussels. He also addressed criticisms regarding his professional associations, explaining that certain images circulated online were from authorized cultural events aimed at promoting interfaith dialogue.
