Abdelmadjid Tebboune orders investment reforms in Algeria
Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune has issued strict directives to overhaul the nation's investment landscape. A key component of this plan is the requirement for a single window for investment to be fully operational by the end of September. This centralized administrative tool is intended to simplify procedures, reduce validation delays, and provide better guarantees for both domestic and foreign investors.
To support these reforms, the President ordered an immediate and exhaustive national census of industrial land. This mapping effort aims to diagnose the availability of land and the status of allocated plots to eliminate speculation and administrative bottlenecks. Additionally, the plan calls for the accelerated digitalization of the entire investment chain, integrating services from tax authorities, customs, and state domain administrations.
Further structural changes include a reorganization of the national port network. Specifically, the Port of Mostaganem will be specialized to handle imports exclusively for public sector companies and organizations.
