Abdessamad El Idrissi denies allegations made by Slimane Errachidi

Abdessamad El Idrissi, a lawyer and leader within the Justice and Development Party, has issued a formal statement denying allegations made by journalist Slimane Errachidi. El Idrissi categorically rejected claims regarding a purported incident involving a royal advisor contacting former Prime Minister Saad Eddine El Othmani concerning the Tawhid wal-Islah movement's stance on normalization agreements.

El Idrissi clarified that his three previous visits to Errachidi while the latter was imprisoned were made at Errachidi's direct request to act as a mediator for political pardons. He stated that all contact ceased following Errachidi's release.

The statement further detailed a recent interaction on April 13, 2025, where El Idrissi received messages from an international Tunisian number claiming to be Errachidi. The messages requested El Idrissi's assistance in writing a report for an upcoming book. El Idrissi claims that after he refused, Errachidi resorted to “explicit blackmail,” threatening to publish fabricated statements attributed to him. El Idrissi noted he possesses documentation of these exchanges and is prepared to release them to defend his reputation.
