Abdou Mbow accuses Ousmane Sonko of financial opacity

During an Alliance pour la République (APR) general assembly in Goudiry, political leader Abdou Mbow accused Ousmane Sonko of lacking transparency regarding the management of the National Assembly and the use of political funds. Mbow demanded accountability for resources Sonko allegedly benefited from in the past, characterizing recent parliamentary initiatives as a “diversionary operation.”

In response to these accusations, supporters of the Prime Minister, including journalist Fatou Abdou Ndiaye and deputy Amadou Ba, defended Sonko. They asserted that Sonko has provided clear documentation regarding political and special funds. Ba also noted administrative challenges within the institution, such as equipment deficits, and announced a proposed law regarding asset declarations.

Separately, the APR is facing internal challenges following the departure of Abdoulaye Seydou Sow. In response, a high-level party delegation led by Abdou Mbow visited Kaffrine to reinforce local support for Macky Sall and stabilize the party's base ahead of upcoming electoral periods.
