Abdoulaye Faye joins Celta Vigo on loan from Bayer Leverkusen

Senegalese centre‑back Abdoulaye Faye, 21, is set to arrive at RC Celta de Vigo on a season‑long loan from German club Bayer Leverkusen. The left‑footed defender, who stands 1.91 m tall, previously spent a season on loan at FC Lorient after spells in Sweden with BK Häcken and Örgryte. Bayer Leverkusen acquired him for €3 million and his market value has risen to about €4.5 million. Celta’s coach Claudio Giráldez expects Faye to reinforce a back line that includes Marcos Alonso, Javi Rodríguez and Carl Starfelt, addressing recent departures and injury concerns. The deal includes an option for Celta to purchase the player after the loan period.
