Abdoulaye Seydou Sow denies 13-hectare land allocation to Idrissa Seck

Former Minister of Urbanism, Abdoulaye Seydou Sow, has denied claims that former Prime Minister Idrissa Seck was personally allocated 13 hectares of land in the Mbour 4 ZAC zone in Thiès.

Sow argues that the controversy stems from a misunderstanding between personal land ownership and the mobilization of land for specific development projects. He asserts that no documentation exists to prove Seck received the land personally, suggesting instead that Seck acted as a facilitator for a project involving the establishment of a large school and other educational infrastructure.

The Mbour 4 land dispute has involved broader allegations regarding the allocation of large plots to various political figures and businesspeople following the publication of lists in the press. Sow has urged against drawing hasty conclusions, emphasizing that land designated for projects should not be automatically interpreted as personal property.
