Abdourahmane Mbodji scores on Ligue 2 debut for FC Metz

Abdourahmane Mbodji, an 18-year-old Senegalese international, scored his first professional goal during his Ligue 2 debut for FC Metz. Entering the match against AS Saint-Étienne in the 72nd minute, the former Génération Foot striker found the net just seven minutes later following a pass from Jean Ruiz.

Mbodji’s goal helped Metz recover from a 2-0 deficit, eventually resulting in a 2-2 draw. The young forward, who finished last season as the top scorer in the Senegalese league with 13 goals, signed a professional contract with Metz this past August that runs until June 2031.

Previously a standout at the Déni Birame Ndao academy, Mbodji has also represented Senegal at the U17 level, including participation in the 2025 U17 Africa Cup of Nations.
