Abdourakhmane Dabo confirms facilitating calls between Aminata Touré and Ousmane Sonko

A political controversy is unfolding in Senegal regarding alleged telephone conversations between former Prime Minister Aminata Touré and Ousmane Sonko during Sonko’s detention at Cap Manuel prior to the 2024 presidential election.

Abdourakhmane Dabo, Director General of SN-HLM and a member of the Kiiraay party, has claimed to be a direct witness to these exchanges. Dabo stated on Facebook that he personally facilitated two telephone calls between Touré and Sonko during the period of detention.

This development follows claims made by Pastef deputy Amadou Ba, who suggested that during one of these calls, Touré expressed skepticism regarding Bassirou Diomaye Faye’s ability to lead the country. While Dabo confirmed the calls took place, he indicated that Ba’s account of the specific content may be inaccurate.
