Abdul El-Sayed receives ANCA endorsement amid IRGC controversy

Democratic Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed has received an endorsement from the Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA). The endorsement follows El-Sayed’s criticism of U.S. military aid to Azerbaijan, which he characterized as a “blatant violation of international law.” El-Sayed pledged to support the security and self-determination of the Armenian people if elected.

Simultaneously, El-Sayed is facing political pressure from Republican opponent Mike Rogers following a viral exchange with an Iranian-American student. During the encounter, El-Sayed declined to condemn the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). The Rogers campaign has utilized footage from this exchange in new advertisements to question El-Sayed’s foreign policy stances and loyalties.
