Abdul El-Sayed to speak at Islamic convention featuring 9/11 skeptics

Michigan Senate candidate Dr. Abdul El-Sayed is scheduled to participate in a panel at the Islamic Society of North America’s annual convention in Detroit. The event has drawn scrutiny due to the inclusion of speakers who have questioned the official accounts of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

El-Sayed will be joined on the panel by The Young Turks founder Cenk Uygur and Muslim cleric Zaid Shakir. Uygur has previously expressed skepticism regarding the government's version of the 9/11 attacks on social media, stating, “I no longer believe [the] official 9/11 story.”

El-Sayed is currently engaged in a competitive race for the Michigan Senate seat against Republican Mike Rogers.
