Abdul Fatawu Issahaku sent off in Ipswich Town loss to Everton

Ghanaian winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku was sent off during Ipswich Town’s 1-0 Premier League defeat against Everton at Goodison Park. Issahaku, who joined Ipswich from Leicester City in the summer, received two yellow cards, with the second booking occurring in the 67th minute for simulation.

Everton secured the victory following an 11th-minute goal by Thierno Barry. Despite the dismissal, Ipswich Town manager Gary O’Neil defended the 22-year-old, describing him as a ‘great addition’ to the squad and noting that the player understands the importance of remaining on the pitch.

Issahaku has recorded one assist in five appearances for Ipswich since his arrival. He is expected to join the Ghana national team shortly for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Ivory Coast and The Gambia, followed by a friendly against Morocco.
