Abdul Fatawu Issahaku set for Leicester City reunion after Ipswich debut
Ghanaian winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku is set to face his former club, Leicester City, in a Carabao Cup second-round match on August 25. The 22-year-old recently joined Ipswich Town from Leicester in a deal reported to be worth approximately £20m.
Issahaku made an impressive Premier League debut for Ipswich Town in their 2-1 victory over Sunderland at Portman Road. During his 66 minutes on the pitch, he was a significant threat on the right flank, completing all three attempted dribbles and winning 10 of 16 ground duels. Ipswich manager Gary O’Neil noted that the winger is still building fitness after joining the squad late in the pre-season.
The match against Sunderland was decided by a 90th-minute winner from Jack Clarke. The upcoming cup fixture at Portman Road will also see former Leicester players Wes Burns and Conor Chaplin returning to face their old club.
