Abdul Hadi Awang warns against using corruption as a political tool

PAS President Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang stated that corruption issues should not be used as political capital to undermine opponents. Speaking at the 72nd PAS Annual Assembly in Kota Bharu, he emphasized that corruption must be treated as a wrongdoing that requires prevention rather than a tool for political warfare.

Abdul Hadi criticized selective enforcement, noting that corruption investigations often target political rivals while misconduct within one's own circles is ignored. He addressed mismanagement of public funds and government-linked companies (GLCs), stating that such matters should be brought to court when sufficient evidence exists, rather than being debated in the media or used as election campaign material to create negative perceptions.

Additionally, he expressed concerns regarding the status of Islam under the Pakatan Harapan administration, claiming that the influence of non-Muslim groups poses a threat to the faith and its followers.
