Abdullah Al-Ali Al-Nuaim Award winners announced for 2026

The Board of Directors of the GCC History and Archaeology Society has announced the winners of the ninth edition of the Abdullah Al-Ali Al-Nuaim Award for 2026, recognizing excellence in the fields of archaeology and history.

In the archaeology category, Dr. Ajab bin Mohammed Al-Otaibi secured first place for his research on archaeological mining sites in Saudi Arabia. Second place was shared by Dr. Latifa bint Mutlaq Al-Adwani, for her study on Marwan Fort in Taif, and Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Al-Saadi Al-Zahrani, for his work on architectural decorations in Taif.

In the history category, first place was shared by Dr. Nasser bin Saeed Al-Atiqi, regarding German presence in Oman and East Africa, and researcher Tariq Khamis Al-Alawi, regarding the decline of the city of Qalhat. Second place was awarded to Dr. Mohammed bin Mansour Al-Hawi for his research on scientific connections in the Al-Ma'a region.

The awards will be presented during the 25th Society Forum held in Salalah, Dhofar Governorate, Oman.
