Abdullah bin Zayed leads UAE delegation to 81st UN General Assembly

Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, is leading the United Arab Emirates delegation to the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, held from September 22 to 28, 2026.

The UAE delegation will engage in high-level meetings with member states, UN officials, and international partners to address global challenges and promote international peace and security. The UAE's participation follows seven months of regional conflict, emphasizing its commitment to active diplomacy and maintaining open channels of dialogue despite geopolitical tensions.

The UAE has identified three primary strategic priorities for this session: advancing conflict resolution and global stability, supporting UN reforms to increase efficiency—including the use of artificial intelligence—and promoting climate action alongside sustainable water solutions. Al Nahyan emphasized that the assembly provides a critical opportunity to restore confidence in international law and strengthen the principles of the UN Charter.
