Abe Laboriel Jr. performs surprise set with Pearl Jam at Ohana Festival

Pearl Jam performed a surprise set at the Ohana Festival in Dana Point, California, featuring drummer Abe Laboriel Jr. The performance occurred during Eddie Vedder’s headlining set, titled ‘Eddie Vedder and Friends’.

Laboriel Jr., a longtime collaborator of Paul McCartney, played a 15-song set including tracks such as ‘Corduroy’, ‘Wishlist’, and ‘Dark Matter’. While the appearance has fueled intense speculation regarding the band’s lineup, the group has not officially confirmed if Laboriel Jr. has joined as a permanent member. During the set, Vedder reportedly introduced him as ‘filling in’.

Laboriel Jr. is a highly sought-after session drummer who has worked with artists including Sting, Eric Clapton, and Lady Gaga. He would be replacing Matt Cameron, who departed the band in July 2025 for health reasons after a 27-year tenure. Pearl Jam is scheduled to perform again at the festival on Sunday, September 27, 2026.
