Abejas Sports and Recreation Center opens in Tijuana

The Abejas Sports and Recreation Center has been completed in Tijuana, Mexico. Designed by Oficina Border Arquitectos in collaboration with Proyectos y Construcciones Velisa, the 60,000-square-meter project aims to improve daily life in underserved urban areas.

Developed in a neighborhood characterized by rapid urban growth and limited access to quality public infrastructure, the center provides a dedicated space for sports, leisure, and community activities. The project involved various specialized teams, including ATRIUS Ingeniería Estructural for structural engineering, INCE Ingeniería y Construcciones Electromecánicas de Tijuana for electrical work, and Nacion Verde A. C. for environmental sustainability.
