Abel Enitan sworn in as Nigeria's Head of Civil Service

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has sworn in Abel Olumuyiwa Enitan as the new Head of Civil Service of the Federation (HoCSF) at the State House in Abuja. Enitan, the most senior Permanent Secretary, succeeds Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, who retired after reaching the mandatory age of 60.

During the handover ceremony, Walson-Jack presented her official handover note to Enitan, marking the formal transfer of responsibilities. Enitan, an indigene of Osun State with a background in banking, finance, and public policy, has held various roles within the federal service, including positions in the Ministries of Niger Delta Affairs, Environment, Police Affairs, and Education.

In his inaugural remarks, Enitan pledged to focus on making the civil service more innovative, professional, and responsive to the needs of Nigerians. He stated his intention to build upon the reforms initiated by his predecessor rather than reinventing existing systems, aiming to ensure that government policies are effectively translated into tangible results for citizens.
