Abel Guillermo Sánchez Torres faces judicial scandal in Córdoba

A political and judicial scandal has emerged in Córdoba, Argentina, involving Abel Guillermo Sánchez Torres, a federal appeals court judge and acting justice of the Supreme Court. Reports indicate that Sánchez Torres was involved in a vehicle accident involving his Ford Ranger Raptor on June 22, following a wine tasting event.

Witnesses allege the judge was driving under the influence when his vehicle veered off the road, broke a guardrail, and crashed into a drain. Following the accident, the judge reportedly left the scene. Concerns have been raised regarding the local Highway Police, who allegedly failed to conduct a breathalyzer test, failed to file official reports, and allowed the vehicle to remain at the site until it was removed by a private tow truck the following day.

In response to the investigation, attorney Carlos Nayi defended the judge during a media appearance. Nayi attempted to dispute the timeline of the accident and the judge's involvement in the post-match event, though investigative findings and photographic metadata reportedly contradict these claims.
